Doc Savage: La calavera roja

This Spanish-language pulp magazine issue contains "La calavera roja" (The Red Skull), a Doc Savage adventure by Kenneth Robeson (pseudonym of Lester Dent), translated by A. Polo. The story follows Doc Savage and his five specialized associates—Monk Mayfair (chemist), Ham Brooks (lawyer), Renny Renwick (engineer), Long Tom Roberts (electrical engineer), and Johnny Littlejohn (archaeologist/geologist)—as they confront a subterranean enemy possessing world-threatening power. The opening chapter, "La caza del hombre" (The Man Hunt), depicts criminals led by the scarred "Buttons" ambushing a golf course near New York to capture Bandy Stevens, who possesses something hidden in his belt. Bandy arrives by biplane piloted by Whitey, discovers the trap when a rabbit flees the buried gunmen, and fights back. Whitey, revealed as a traitor who attempted Bandy's murder in Phoenix, forces him onto the aircraft's wing during an aerial struggle.
