"Los Rondadores de la Muerte" by Fidel Prado Duque
This serialized adventure narrative depicts a monastery siege in exotic Eastern locale. Wang-Cheng, a sect leader, employs hypnosis through medium Fu-Shan to investigate a laboratory arson. The medium's trance visions reveal three intruders in monk disguise who murdered monks, incinerated the laboratory using chemical mixtures, and disposed of bodies. The perpetrators are identified as foreign enemies whom Wang-Cheng believed secured in coffins. A third escapee has orchestrated liberation. When Wang-Cheng searches monastery cells, he discovers two guard dogs slain and the fugitives missing—one dog killed by sword wounds at the stairwell exit. Despite frantic searches through the monastery's labyrinthine passages, the foreigners vanish, leaving Wang-Cheng increasingly frustrated and suspecting supernatural powers. He orders the medium interrogated again, seeking the fugitives' whereabouts.
