Famous Western

This November 1946 issue of *Famous Western* magazine contains ten complete short stories. "Satan Wore Sixes" by Richard Brister is a novel about a man named Duttley who faces the young son of his former best friend, unable to reveal who truly killed the boy's father. Other notable tales include Dan Kirby's "The Man Who Killed Old Hodge," in which Luke confronts the necessity of murdering Hodge, and T. W. Ford's "Parley at Whiskey Creek," featuring a seemingly foolish preacher being used to capture an outlaw named Pistol Frank Land. Additional stories include "Code of the Rimrocks" (Cliff Campbell), about the mysterious slaughter of wild horses; "Sky-Pilot's Shooting Chore" (Ralph Berard), exploring a gunman-preacher's conflicting roles; and "Killers Also Die" (Seymour Irving Richin), involving a Mexican church bell and murder. The issue also includes a Western quiz and lighthearted pieces by A. A. Baker, Wilbur S. Peacock, Gunnison Steele, and Idaho Bill.
