Catalog Note This Spring 1969 issue of *Famous Science Fiction* (Volume 2, Number 3) edited by Robert A. W. Lowndes contains three science fiction novelets and short stories. The lead novelet is Sewell Peaslee Wright's "The Forgotten Planet," an early interplanetary tale framed as a historical record about a world deliberately erased from all records of the Universe. An old chronicler recounts the first contact with this planet by the pioneer vessel Edom, whose commander Ame Baove briefly encountered an intelligent but hostile short-statured species with distinctive ridged skulls before departing. The issue also features Ray Cummings' "The Derelict of Space," a story that originated from a 1931 *Wonder Stories Quarterly* reader contest where William Thurmond's 137-word plot outline was developed by Cummings. Additional stories include Harl Vincent's "Space Storm," John Kendrick Bangs' "A Glance Ahead," and A. Rowley Hilliard's "Death from the Stars," alongside critical essays and vintage reprints.
