Fred Fearnot's Office Boy; or, Making Money in Wall Street
· May 5, 1905

This issue of *Work and Win* (No. 335, May 5, 1905) contains the serial "Fred Fearnot's Office Boy; or, Making Money in Wall Street" by Hal Standish. The story follows Fred Fearnot and Terry Olcott as they attempt to re-establish themselves in Wall Street stock trading after Fred previously lost his fortune. Having settled his debts by liquidating his properties, Fred now has capital from his successful management of the National Athletic Club and a favorable betting outcome on a Yale fencing match. With Broker Middleton's assistance, Fred and Terry invest forty thousand dollars in M. & J. stock at eighty dollars per share, buying four thousand shares. The narrative depicts their return to their former office and the welcoming reactions of other brokers, including Broker Kennedy, though some brokers had previously shown unsympathy during their earlier failure.
