Catalog Note: Future Science Fiction, March 1954 This issue of *Future Science Fiction*, edited by Robert W. Lowndes, contains five science fiction stories. The featured novelette is Randall Garrett's "The Wayward Course," which involves a woman who appears inexplicably to be three thousand years old. Sam Merwin Jr.'s serial "Wampum" concerns a man who recognizes danger in a mysterious "playboy invasion." Short stories include Dave Dryfoos's "The Old-Fashioned Spaceman," where protagonist Myron makes history unexpectedly; Eando Binder's "The Payoff," featuring characters on an important but unclear mission; and Stephen Arr's "The Square Peg," about a man named Al Rogers regarded as savage by twenty-third-century society. Regular departments include editorial commentary by Lowndes, book reviews by Damon Knight and L. Jerome Stanton, fan magazine coverage by Robert A. Madle, and reader preference voting. The issue features interior illustrations by Emsch, Frees, Luros, and Orban, with cover art by Alex Schomburg.
