This is Herringshaw's American Blue Book of Biography for 1914, an alphabetically-organized reference work containing approximately thirty thousand biographical entries of prominent Americans. Edited and compiled by Thomas William Herringshaw, the volume profiles business leaders, merchants, manufacturers, financiers, statesmen, lawyers, physicians, educators, and other notable citizens across various professions and walks of life. Each entry presents the subject's name, profession, location, birth date and place, and major career accomplishments or published works. The entries shown here cover surnames beginning with "Aa" through "Ab," including physicians like Carl C. Aas and Eugene M. Aaron; the lawyer and author Jacob Ralph Abarbanell; landscape painter Agnes Dean Abbatt; and numerous lawyers, bankers, educators, and clergy. The work aims to document American achievement and progress across civil, industrial, and commercial endeavors.
