Magazine of Horror, Vol. 4, No. 2 (March 1968) This issue features Murray Leinster's novelet "The Monsters," a science-fiction horror piece, alongside "The Siren of the Snakes" by Arlton Eadie, a colonial-era tale of two British officers hunting a massive python terrorizing a Himalayan village. The creature is suspected by locals of being supernatural—a snake possessed by a witch's spirit. Additional stories include "The Rack" by G.G. Ketcham, "A Cry from Beyond" by Victor Rousseau, and "Only Gone Before" by Emil Petaja. Editor Robert A.W. Lowndes also includes an editorial discussing the 1920s vogue for spiritualist magazines, particularly Bernarr Macfadden's *Ghost Stories* (1926–1931) and its shift from rotogravure to pulp format, arguing the magazine's "true story" approach influenced early pulp horror aesthetics.
