Masked Rider Western, Winter Issue

This pulp magazine issue contains five Western stories. The lead novel, "Ghost Guns" by Donald Bayne Hobart, features protagonists Wayne Morgan and Blue Hawk. The complete Masked Rider novella "Raiders of Rifle Rock" by Lee E. Wells centers on conflict below Pecos Ridge, where two outfits engage in a desperate feud until Wayne Morgan and Blue Hawk intervene. Short stories include "Man-Hunting Mustang" by Jack Sterrett about Jay Hicken selecting a partner; "Star on His Desk" by Hapsburg Liebe involving young Sheriff Kirk Brennan against five outlaws; "Nesters Are Poison" by Mel Pitzer concerning Dave Lester catching a poker cheat; and "Claws of Perdition" by Gunnison Steele featuring Sonora Drake and Adam Boone seeking hidden gold. A regular department, "Trail Talk," is also included. The issue, Vol. 17, No. 2, was published Winter 1945 at ten cents.
