Hutchinsons Story Magazine, September 1919
STORY-PAPER MAGAZINE — SEPTEMBER [DATE UNCLEAR FROM OCR] This magazine issue contains advertisements and instructional material rather than the typical fiction content one might expect from a "Story-Paper Magazine." The OCR text is heavily degraded, making identification of actual fiction stories difficult. The clearest content consists of multiple display advertisements: instruction courses in short story writing (taught by distinguished authors including Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch and others through the London Correspondence College); advertisements for personal efficiency courses; banking information; food products (Edwards' Lemon Ginger Cake, Johnston's Patent Corn Flour, custard); fountain pens; educational college courses; typewriters; model aeroplanes; and medical electrical treatments for neurasthenia and various ailments. The issue appears to be British, dated sometime between 1918-1920 based on references and typography, though the OCR quality prevents certain confirmation of specific story content that may have been present in the publication.
