Catalog Entry "The Big Noise at Nice," by Alice Rix, is a romantic comedy novelette occupying the issue's opening pages. Mayol, their proprietor, conceives a business opportunity, arranging for Kitty and her maid Anne to travel to Nice posing as a wealthy American widow, modeling his latest fashions to English society at the Hôtel Splendide—precisely where Gault, Jim, and Jim's new wife are converging.
