Munsey's Magazine, Volume XXXVIII
· October 1907–March 1908

This index from Volume XXXVIII contains a diverse mix of nonfiction and fiction. The special articles cover historical and contemporary subjects: biographical pieces on notable figures like Adelina Patti, Thomas Edison, and Leo XIII; architectural and cultural topics including the Panama Canal construction and Vatican treasures; literary analysis of canonical works (Jane Eyre, The Odyssey, Vanity Fair); and commentary on social and economic matters. Authors include W. J. Henderson, Frank A. Munsey, and Vance Thompson.
The short stories, numbering over sixty, represent popular domestic and adventure fiction typical of the era. Mary Roberts Rinehart contributes multiple pieces ("Conflict of Authorities," "His Father's Son," "The Room Beyond," "A Triangular Elopement"), while other contributors include Edward Boltwod, George Randolph Chester, and Joseph C. Lincoln. Themes range from romance and family matters to frontier adventures and mysteries. Three serials run across multiple issues: "Barry Gordon" by William Farquhar Payson, F. Marion Crawford's "The Prima donna," and "The World and the Woman" by Ruth Kimball Gardiner. Regular departments include Light Verse and Storiettes.
