This Spanish-language science fiction pulp serial, "El Secreto del Asesinato" (The Secret of the Murder), is credited to author W. Sampas. Desperate to acquire the land without arousing suspicion, Richard seeks assistance from Igor Domerenko, director of the "Asociación de Servicios Personales" (Association of Personal Services)—a criminal organization that solves "difficulties" for payment. Domerenko agrees to secure the property for one million dollars within fifteen days, employing intimidation tactics that disturb Richard. The second chapter introduces Elías Stenowicht, Domerenko's intellectual partner, as the two men travel the General Road, revealing their five-year criminal partnership operates smoothly despite their contrasting personalities and backgrounds.
