Asesinato en Luna-Término
This science fiction murder mystery by Alan Comet, set on Luna-Término (a lunar station), follows the investigation into the brutal murder of Myriam Carey, a television company secretary on her first space vacation. Discovered mutilated in a decompression chamber with both arms severed, Carey had arrived from Earth via spacecraft. Investigators Donald Callowan and Alex Morton examine the crime scene, discovering only a purse containing lipstick, aspirin, and an unidentified key. The narrative alternates between Carey's arrival experience and the discovery by bored facility worker Marthin, who was reading a pulp science fiction novel ("Crime in the Galaxy") when the murder occurred. The detectives debate whether the killing represents a crime of passion or premeditated murder exploiting the security gap created by the inattentive employee. The investigation reveals the victim was ordinary, yet the crime's location and method suggest careful planning despite apparent opportunity.
