The Redemption of Marie Gordon, No. 3
· 1926

Catalog Note
This issue of *R. of M. G.* (likely *Revealing or Modern Gossip*) presents the serial romance "Wronged Womanhood" by an unnamed author. The narrative concerns Marie Gordon, recovering in bed after an undisclosed trauma, reconciling with her husband Philip after misunderstandings involving compromising photographs, a blackmailer named Jones, and a man named Jack Hoover who attempted to kiss her. Alice Procter aids Marie and lends her five thousand dollars to resolve the blackmail scheme.
The second chapter, "Love's Garden," shifts focus to Betty Procter. Alice engineers a meeting between Betty and Bob Harding, an automobile mechanic from the Automobile Club, when their car breaks down in the countryside. Betty becomes infatuated and phones Bob at the garage, falsely claiming car trouble in Jackson Park. She meets him at a rustic bridge over a stream on "Wooded Island," removes her stockings to wade in the water, and flirts with him until a police officer interrupts.
