Catalog Note: The Saint Mystery Magazine (March 1962, Vol. 8, No. 1, British Edition) This issue features fiction edited by Leslie Charteris and Hans Stefan Santesson. The main offering, "The Smart Detective" by Charteris, follows Inspector Corrio attempting to catch vigilante-thief Simon Templar (the Saint) by predicting his targets. Templar meets Janice Dixon, a destitute seamstress working in Oppenheim's sweat shops for starvation wages while the wealthy Oppenheim displays his newly acquired Vanderwoude emerald collection. The revelation of such exploitation sparks Templar's interest. Other featured stories include Sax Rohmer's "Spirit of the Black Hawk," Lawrence G. Blochman's "Bait for a Man-Trap," and E.
