The Saint Mystery Magazine, June 1959

This June 1959 issue contains five featured mystery-detective stories and serial material edited by Leslie Charteris. "The Water Merchant" by Charteris opens with the Saint critiquing foreign aid before being persuaded to investigate an investment opportunity in La Jolla. Walt Jobyn, a Texas oil tycoon, is considering backing "Doc Nemford's" seawater desalination invention, which Jobyn's skeptical wife Felicity suspects is a swindle. Other stories include Craig Rice's "His Heart Could Break," William P. McGivern's "The Sound of Murder" (set in Yugoslavia), Edgar Wallace's "Under Sentence of Death," and Rafael Sabatini's "Night of Witchcraft." Thomas Walsh contributes "The Harrington Case." The issue also includes a Saint ratings feature and "Time for Crime" by Walt Sheezdon.
