Catalog Note *The Thrill Book*, May 1, 1919. This semimonthly issue continues "Down the Coast of Shadows" by Perley Poore Sheehan, a supernatural mystery serial. The millionaire Wycherly repeatedly denies leaving his house despite evidence he visited his safe at night, claiming he was possessed or impersonated by his dead brother Joseph, who wrote an occult manuscript. Secretary Grierson describes seeing Joseph's apparition standing near Wycherly; safe-cracker Swan and policeman Cavanaugh claim Wycherly gave them money and signed documents. Wycherly denies everything, threatening arrest. When confronted with a signed letter, he grows violent. His poor niece Mary arrives and reads the mysterious paper, her expression shifting from wonder to shock. The issue ends as Cavanaugh explains its origins. Also includes "Nothing But Dust" by Frederick Booth.
