Weird Tales (Canadian Edition)

This January 1946 issue of *Weird Tales* contains eight stories and two poems. The lead novelette, "Lost Elysium" by Edmond Hamilton, depicts Brian Cullan's desperate attempt to breach the gateway between Earth and Tir Sorcha, the Celtic mythological Shining Land, using an ancestral magical ring called "The Unlocker." After being exiled two years prior, Cullan returns to reclaim his love for the princess Fand. Additional novelettes include Allison V. Harding's "The Murderous Steam Shovel," about an exceptionally lethal piece of machinery, and Roger S. Vreeland's "The Mad Dancers," concerning a mysterious plague. Short stories include August Derleth's "Mrs. Lannisfree," Harold Lawlor's "The Cranberry Goblet," Jim Kjelgaard's "The Fangs of Tsan-Lo," Robert Bloch's "Soul Proprietor," Charles King's "The Mirror," and Alice B. Harcraft's "Ride the El to Doom." Verse contributions feature Stanton A. Coblentz and H. P. Lovecraft.
