Museum Catalog Note *Weird Tales* (1934) features "The Black God's Kiss" by C. L. Moore, a fantasy tale of Jirel of Joiry, a red-haired warrior commander defeated and assaulted by the conqueror Guillaume. After escaping her dungeon cell, Jirel plots revenge, seeking Father Gervase in the castle chapel for confession before undertaking a mysterious, dangerous journey. The issue also includes "The Seven Geases" by Clark Ashton Smith, a science-fiction story of Ranjit Singh (dead yet buried), "Reppin" by Gordon Garwit (a love transcending death), and "At the Bend of the Trail" by Manly Wade Wellman (African explorers versus a jungle plant monstrosity). Part four of Artlton Eadie's mystery serial "The Trail of the Cloven Hoof" and part two of Robert E. Howard's "The People of the Black Circle" featuring Conan continue. The issue includes verse, a reprinted Italian ghost story "Fioraccio," and advertisement for "Psychiana," a religious correspondence course.
