Western Yarns, January 1943

Western Yarns (January 1943, Vol. 2, No. 2) contains two lead novels and four short stories. "Guns of Tomahawk Range" by George H. Weldon depicts a conflict over ranch ownership, with protagonist Lockwood threatened into surrendering his land. "The Feud at the Rocking M" by Wilbur S. Peacock follows Rex Martin as he honors a pact with the Fraker family despite suspicion they murdered his brother. Short stories include "Hold-Up by Appointment" (Prentice M. Thomas), featuring a tubercular protagonist unafraid of violence; "The Pilgrim Was a Fox" (Stephen Payne), a practical joke narrative; "Beaver Cowboy" (Eric Thate), concerning belief-driven conflict; "Longrider Law" (Lee Floren), a lawman confrontation; and "Fugitive from Hell" (Charles N.
