Multiple independent observers reported a rapidly moving object between 10:30 and 10:45 p.m. An insurance agent and former B-24 pilot estimated the object's altitude at 1,000-6,000 feet, traveling northeast to southwest at 400-500 mph, emitting a bluish-white flame with a trailing smoke or condensation trail lasting approximately 2 seconds. A retired police officer described it as resembling a "giant firecracker" with a fiery trail visible for 100 feet. Another witness observed a white object traveling south with a grayish smoke trail. Investigators ruled out military aircraft and chemical plant fires, finding no definitive explanation.
