Multiple witnesses—employed by the City Parks Department and residing in Griffith Park—observed a metallic, disc-shaped object flying northwest at high altitude. The object, aluminum-colored and roughly the size of a quarter held at arm's length, appeared thick-centered with tapered edges. Witnesses estimated its speed exceeded jet aircraft, traveling a 160-degree arc in thirty-five seconds. The disc reportedly bore vertical projections and left a thin dark trail dissipating immediately. Observers disagreed on whether it rotated; some saw it spinning counterclockwise, others tumbling like a flipped coin. No sound or odor was reported. Subsequent investigation verified clear weather conditions and confirmed no scheduled military or civilian aircraft or experimental devices were active in the area at that time.
