Amazing Stories, March 1959

This document is not a pulp magazine but rather a declassified U.S. Navy intelligence report form (ONI Form 383-H) dated March 12, 1949, detailing UFO sightings. The report documents two incidents: first, a weather station observer at Königsfeld in the Black Forest witnessed a shining yellow ball surrounded by a greenish halo traveling at approximately 600-800 km per hour from north-northwest to south-southeast. Separately, a young American couple—the husband a physics instructor at Freiburg University—observed a disk-shaped object near Freiburg that descended like a shooting star, changed direction, and disappeared. They described it as shining white with yellow shimmer and noted considerable speed. The report classification was "unclassified" with distribution to multiple naval commands.
