Ace-High Magazine, Second October Number
This October 1927 issue of *Ace-High Magazine* contains western fiction across multiple story forms. The lead is Ralph Cummins's book-length novel "Dakota, Death Dealer," about a former gunman who turns toward law enforcement. Short stories include George Rosenberg's "The Red Tromp," featuring a rancher in the Siskiyous; Albert William Stone's "The Man in Sidewinder Canyon"; and pieces by John Beames ("Blood-for Gold"), Glenn A. Connor, Ripton Croy ("Padgett of Hell's Roost," about a cowboy visiting New York), and Clee Woods. A serial novel by W. Bert Foster titled "The Two-Gun Romulus," set on the Lazy D ranch, continues its fifth installment. Western ballad verse by C. M. Lindsay appears alongside the fiction. The magazine's advertisements promote home study courses in electricity and government postal employment.
