Suspicious of the crew's dark demeanor, Watson observes a sailor with what appears to be a dirk but proves to be a marline-spike. Captain Log falls from the main yard, injuring his hip, but recovers. The secondary serial depicts Revolutionary War Carolina, featuring Captain Conyers, the blacksmith Matthews, and the beautiful Maud Carroll fighting for independence.
