When bartender Nip Allison passes a hat for collection and Jaimeson refuses to contribute, the aggressive Paddy Porter confronts him. Their confrontation escalates into a fistfight; Jaimeson strikes Porter before he can raise his guard, sending him crashing into another man and scattering collected coins. Porter returns with a pistol, firing into the crowd as violence erupts around the stranger.
