Cambridge Blue Book, 1907 This volume is a municipal directory and reference guide for Cambridge, Massachusetts, issued in 1907 by the Boston Suburban Book Company. It comprises the twenty-second in a series of such annual publications. The book contains alphabetical and street-organized listings of leading residents, municipal officials, city services, local institutions, and civic organizations. Contents include directories of Cambridge's public schools, banks, lawyers, physicians, and post offices; detailed information on churches, the public library, hospitals, and charitable institutions; and extensive listings of fraternal organizations and societies, from the Grand Army of the Republic to the Order of Scottish Clans. A fire alarm system map with numbered signal box locations throughout the city is provided. The volume includes a street directory and map of Cambridge, plus Sanders Theatre and theater diagrams. Numerous local and Boston-area businesses advertise their services, from fuel companies and electrical contractors to clothing merchants and upholsterers, reflecting the commercial character of the period.
