"The Argus Pheasant" by John Charles Beecham begins a five-part serial. Edgar Franklin's "Opportunity" continues as part three of a four-part story. George Washington Ogden's "The Holy Scare" appears as part four of its five-part run. "The Scarlet Ghost" by Perley Poore Sheehan, a sequel to "Those Who Walk in Darkness," runs as part five—its conclusion. Johnston McCulley contributes the novelette "The Jungle Trail." The five short stories include "Wages of Virtue" by Mary Lermer, "Courage" by Olin L. Lyman, "Jimmy Fagan's Lost Love" by Bide Dudley, "Posh Luker—His Memoirs" by John Barnett (part three, titled "A Fistful of Diamonds"), and "John Pyle, Rampant" by William Merriam Rouse. The issue also includes verse and an editorial "Heart to Heart Talks" section.
