Museum Catalog Note *Terror Detective Story Magazine*, Vol. 1, No. 1 (October 1956), features five short stories and three novelettes of detective and crime fiction. The lead story, "It's Been a Long, Long Crime" by Thorne Lee, follows Ladd Chamberlin, an aimless veteran in a city bar who accepts a mysterious sealed envelope from a nervous woman via a coded rendezvous in a phone booth. The envelope contains five thousand dollars and a letter addressed to Box 4815. After the woman returns seeking its return and he refuses without documentation of rightful ownership, Chamberlin is attacked in an alley and robbed of both envelope and billfold. Other contents include Fredric Brown's novelette "See No Murder," Jim Harmon's "The Hooked Crook," and stories by Lawrence Springarn, Arthur Porges, Rick Daniels, and Jack Bender.
