WORLD-WIDE ADVENTURE, Vol. 1, No. 5 (Winter 1968/69) This quarterly periodical, edited by Robert A. Lowndes, contains seven selections spanning adventure and classic literature. Philip Ketchum's novelet "The Axe Bites Deep" follows Caedmon, a Saxon blacksmith, who mystically forges an enormous battleaxe named Bretwalda during King Alfred's conflict with invading Danes.
