Abbott and Costello Comics #13

Abbott and Costello work as firemen and find themselves mistakenly left in charge of the firehouse when the fire chief departs. While they struggle with their newfound responsibility, chaos erupts involving a criminal pursuit at a nearby farm, where they encounter escaped convicts and end up chasing a suspect through barns and fields. The story escalates into comedic mayhem as the duo attempts to handle the situation, eventually catching their quarry with the help of farm animals, before returning to the firehouse where they play cards and attempt to maintain order among the other firefighters.
