This 100th anniversary issue is an anthology featuring multiple stories. "The Head Man" depicts an American businessman who encounters an alien civilization of intelligent robot beings on another planet and is captured and interrogated by them about human nature. "Preliminary Hearing" follows a woman named Helene who testifies at a supernatural court proceeding about her Uncle Martin's death, recounting a strange dream where she and her uncle soared upward on a cloud. "Nothing Ever Happens to Halloran" shows a man named Joey Halloran whose life is marked by the ironic reality that while extraordinary events constantly befall others, nothing remarkable ever happens to him.
