A man discovers a black cat in the woods and rescues it from a grave slab, but learns through an inscription and a fortune teller's warning that the cat is cursed—it will cause three deaths before becoming a witch again. When the man later encounters a murderer named Dave Biddle hiding in the woods, the supernatural cat attacks and kills him, fulfilling the first of the predicted deaths. The cursed feline continues its deadly work as the man struggles to prevent further tragedy, ultimately being forced to seek help from those with supernatural knowledge to break the curse before more innocent lives are claimed.
