This anthology issue contains two main stories: "The Heap," in which Airboy engages in a submarine battle during wartime, disabling an enemy vessel while attempting to save a U.S. sub, with the action climaxing when Airboy must catch a spy and prevent him from reaching the atomic engine. "The Crown of Court" features Paul and Virginia at a New England coastal location where they discover an ancient tombstone marking a witch's execution, and Virginia becomes obsessed with obtaining an old witch's crown supposedly buried nearby, insisting Paul prove his love by helping her dig for it.
