All-Time Sports Comics #4

This anthology issue contains multiple sports stories. One narrative follows a ship's passenger named Mr. Harris, a slim American boxer who accepts a challenge to compete in a shipboard boxing tournament against larger, more experienced opponents and eventually defeats them through skill and determination. Another story, "The Pale American," depicts a boxing match aboard a steamer traveling from England to South Africa in 1896, where the pale Mr. Harris faces off against larger competitors including the formidable Mr. Murgatroyd. A third story concerns Frank McGee, a hockey player who suffers a serious eye injury during a game but makes a determined comeback to play again for Ottawa, eventually scoring four goals in sixty-five seconds.
