Atom the Cat encounters aggressive fish underwater and a swordfish that he must evade, eventually escaping the aquatic predators. The issue also includes "The Prospector," a story about prospectors discovering gold, and "Rodeo Riot," featuring action on a ranch, as well as "The Mouse 'My Hero,'" which follows a mouse watching a movie about a he-man hero and later imagining what kind of hero he himself might become. In the main Atom story, the cat discovers a radio-active uranium source in the woods and encounters a mysterious figure who claims to be behind the clicking sounds, leading to a physical confrontation.
