Atomic War! #1

A story depicting an atomic war scenario centered on American military defense efforts against a Soviet attack. The narrative follows U.S. military personnel as Detroit's defense installations are destroyed in thirty seconds, including factories, an automobile storage depot, a reservoir, and a defense housing unit, with Lake Erie rising to engulf the stricken city. American servicemen engage Soviet forces in combat, and subsequently American pilots prepare for a military strike, with a commander briefing flight crews for a mission set to launch at zero hour 0400 the next morning before fire breaks out at an airfield hangar.
