Attack! #54
This anthology issue contains multiple military stories. The opening story depicts a World War II battle where the first wave of soldiers faces heavy casualties from enemy fire, gas, and explosives before the second wave of attack-capable planes, bombers, fighters, and torpedo bombers arrives to destroy what remained from the first assault. "LCVP Jockey" follows a landing craft operator who safely transports thousands of soldiers to beaches worldwide and promises to return with reinforcements, though hundreds of his men were reported captured or killed at Saipan. A third story depicts the famous 1862 naval battle between the Ironclads, the Monitor and the Merrimac, where the Monitor's victory dealt a mortal blow to Confederate hopes, followed by General Hooker pursuing Robert E. Lee at Chancellorsville with mounting casualties presented to the President.
