An anthology of police cases featuring multiple stories. "Trigger-Happy Dawn Gang" follows Ray Barret and Big John Anders, who hide thousands of dollars at Barret's roadhouse; when Big John is killed trying to retrieve the money, Anders and Barret are finally captured by police after a chase. "Death on the Waterfront" depicts an arson case where a pyromaniac sets fires throughout the city until police and fire department collaboration leads to his apprehension. Additional stories include "Arson is Hard to Prove," which details a serial arsonist's crimes and eventual capture, and a subway robbery case involving gang members Neil, Shag Milewsky, and Willie Halpern, who are arrested after planning to rob subway money changers.
