Battle Action in Pictures #4

A story of wartime conflict depicts French sappers attempting to hold back an enemy advance by destroying roadways and bridges. When enemy forces push forward despite the destruction, Allied soldiers capture an enemy prisoner and offer him food and shelter rather than mistreatment, leading the prisoner to express gratitude and a philosophical rejection of war in favor of human friendship and compassion.
