This anthology issue contains at least two stories of combat action. "Marine!" depicts a brief encounter between an aging Marine Colonel and a young enlisted man during their final forty years of service, as they prepare to leave the Corps together and reflect on their shared military history spanning from World War II through numerous Pacific theaters. A second story shows a soldier lost behind enemy lines in a snowy forest, where he encounters German forces, narrowly escapes machinegun fire, and must find his way back to his unit. The issue also features "Tough Pearl Harbor!," which recounts the Japanese attack on the Prince of Wales and the destruction wrought upon Allied naval forces during the Pearl Harbor assault.
