Battle Heroes #1

During the early days of World War II, a Marine division retreats from the Chosen Reservoir under orders, with soldiers reluctant to abandon their positions. A soldier named Shelly experiences combat shock but is reassured by a chaplain who recognizes his condition and takes him for a walk to help. In a separate naval engagement, an American captain defies orders to make a solo attack on an enemy fleet, successfully engaging Japanese ships at great cost before his vessel is sunk. British forces conduct a fighting retreat through the Dutch countryside while facing overwhelming German armored divisions, with the British ultimately executing a successful "pull back" maneuver to regroup and continue their defensive operations.
