Battle Squadron #2 is an anthology featuring military combat stories. "Veteran!" follows a hardened Marine sergeant who takes a young, inexperienced replacement under his wing during a nighttime guard duty operation, where the veteran's expertise and understanding help the untested soldier survive an encounter with enemy forces. Another story features a test pilot flying a new jet-powered aircraft, with conflict arising between the pilot's desire to push the experimental plane to its limits and military command's caution regarding the million-dollar aircraft. "The Meter Reader" depicts Lieutenant Woody Miller piloting a B-29 bomber nicknamed "The Meter Reader," which successfully completes a dangerous bombing run despite facing fourteen gun batteries and intense anti-aircraft fire.
