Battlefront #5
This anthology issue contains three war stories. "St. Bernards of the Sky" depicts a U.S. Air Force rescue operation in the Korean skies, where the crew of a downed B-19 bomber calls for help and is rescued by a B-19 transport drop that delivers a two-ton, thirty-foot motor to carry the survivors to safety. An untitled story follows, depicting American soldiers in combat who capture Chinese prisoners and interrogate them at a command post, refusing to kill their captives despite enemy pressure. "Korean Strike-Out King" humorously contrasts warfare with baseball, showing how GIs skilled at both sports mix combat tactics with baseball strategy during a lull in Korean fighting, with a soldier's trick play resulting in an "invaluable prize"—fresh eggs from a Korean farm.
