Ben Bowie and His Mountain Men #12

Ben Bowie and his mountain men encounter a group of Indigenous people and help them escape from a hostile chief, Nakah. After demonstrating fire-making with a magnifying glass, Yellow Hair is adopted into the tribe and eventually elected to their council. Later, to prove their worth to the tribe, Ben and his men agree to retrieve a rock from White Waters Island in Beaver Lake, but discover the island is actually dangerous rapids that threaten their safety as they navigate the treacherous waters.
