Best-Seller Comics #1 is an anthology featuring two main stories. "Tailspin Tommy" follows a pilot who attempts to stall enemy forces in a lagoon while working to break his damaged plane free, eventually leading to aerial combat and a climactic escape over a harbor where he and his allies raise aircraft to combat an invasion of Marquie. "Tailspin Tommy" continues with Tommy and Skeets flying to Miami to seek Coast Guard assistance in rescuing Betty-Lou, Barbara, and Tex from Versalian-invaded Marquie, with the protagonist discovering an air race being staged as cover for the enemy's plan to position pilots for a Western Hemisphere invasion.
