Billy the Kid #19

Billy the Kid #19 The issue contains two stories. In the first, Billy the Kid confronts a rustler named Buckworth who has destroyed a town, learning from the sheriff that Buckworth commands three steers brought from Mexico; Billy defeats Buckworth and his gang in a gunfight. In the second story, a corrupt official named Loomis hires Billy to eliminate a threat from Copper Heddman, but Billy discovers Heddman's scheme and turns against Loomis; Billy is then captured by Apache warriors led by Hopo, but wins their respect through courage and helps them fight against encroaching settlers before departing peacefully.
