This issue contains two stories: "The Monster of the Mountain," in which Billy the Kid and companions encounter a giant green reptilian creature in the mountains and must battle the creature's deadly attacks; and "The Wayward Wagons," a text story by Sheriff Joe Slidell recounting his experiences from 1872 to 1890 in Conchero County, including an incident involving a wagon train of Scottish immigrants passing through his jurisdiction and concerns about Apache raids on their journey south.
