Two hardcases pursue Billy the Kid to obtain $100,000 in gold, but Billy is knocked down and dazed by an explosion during their confrontation. Sheriff Blanton attempts to catch the outlaws as they escape, and Billy later encounters a Native American named Chulo in the desert who has battled white soldiers and agrees to help Billy against the pursuing gunmen.
